AES Oct 2008 SF

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if some diyaudio types here would be attending the AES convention next weekend in San Francisco.

Would be nice to meet & have a chat.

I'll be hanging out at the AudioXpress / Elektor USA stand 1133.
Let's say hi! (Even if you don't want to see me you can always pick-up your free magazine copy

)

I'll be there (I'm even presenting a paper there Fri AM). I'll stop by... and pick up an Elektor mag.

I'll swing by booth 1133 around 1pm then and see if anyone's available. That's the same time as the opening ceremony and key note speech - might not want to miss that

It was nice to meet Janneman today!

However, I was tired and bored so said thet I did not see anything interesting...

Actually, I did!

A first, a guy from San Francisco demonstrated his studio monitors. Great design! Woofers mounted back to back and tied together, mid range speakers on aluminum panels, very stiff box, very optimal!

Second, TI had a very humble looking stand with some tiny papers printed on cheap paper... I took one, went home and rushed on their site in order to get samples ASAP, found no information, so had to write to TI tech support in order to get more information: they have a great opamp design, I believe it is the first true audio opamp. It will be called OPA1611/OPA1612 (single and dual versions).

There were another interesting things, but I'm too tired now to write about them...

Also, I saw a senior couple, I believe they were Rupert Neve and his wife.
