Tuner sounds terrible

Hi all,

I am using a tuner (Grundig ST-9000) in my audio setup at home.
The tuner is receiving signal via boradband cable and as this was neccessary - a ground lift was inserted before the antenna input (FM).

The sound however is terrible. In other words: Hissing sounds are present in the sound and it is always quite close before distortion. I like that with guitar sounds, but would like to remove these from the hifi equipment.

This problem is only evident for the tuner CD, Turntable and Tape are working correct.

My best guess in the moment is, that this effect is caused by the high signal level from the broadband cable.

Has anybody in this forum had this problem before?

And maybe a practical solution for it (other than selling the tuner)?

I am grateful for any comment, that might enable me to get the tuner sound to normal - at least to what I would call normal.

Thanks for any feedback.
