Hi all

I have scanned this website for any hints on how to make a DIY steel chassis for a tube amplifier.

QUAD and many other respected tube amp builders have used this technique. Anybody have any ideas on how to do a DIY steel chassis for a tube amp?

My latest tube amp project requires such a chassis. 440mm wide x 350mm deep x 100mm high.

Any thoughts on this subject?

Please note: This is not a commecial project. The amplifier will be a once-off unit.

What specifically did you have in mind?

Well, a sturdy mild steel chassis with above-mentioned dimensions. Painted in black crinkel paint. Wooden face and side cheeks over steel chassis fastened with small allen-key bolts.
Removable mild steel bottom cover with sturdy feet. Integrated "bulk-head" inside chassis to seperate PSU and audio section.

Type of neo-classic styling...
