hi, i'm really wanting to make a box that you plug a light and a microphone into. the input of the microphone will determine if the light is on or off. say for instance if i make a quick burst of sound in the microphone, the light flashes on and then turns off. i've read as much as i could find and have tried my luck using a computer speaker's preamp circuit with a d2w203f relay but i just couldn't get it to function. i really only have a very basic knowledge of this stuff and the write up i was going of off was pretty vague and obviously geared towards someone who probably could have figured it out for themselves. its the same concept that people have used to program their christmas lights to flicker to the beat of carols. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try a Google search for "Color Organ".
Some of the circuits here might be useful: http://www.discovercircuits.com/C/color-org.htm |
