Default Power supply question

Long ago after building the Pass A40 I played with the power supply some. The supply used 2 bridges and 4 10,000uf
caps to get a seprate + & - 32v supply per channel. I found that
the bass was tighter if I added another set of caps in parrell with
the first set. Well this is old hat and just as expected. Then I
removed the new set of caps and reconnected them across
the + & - power supply outlets. So I now had a 10,000 uf cap
from the + of the bridge to ground a 10,000uf cap from the -
of the bridge to ground and 20,000uf between the + and -
terminals. The added capacitence in this case didn't seem to
do a thing. I have always wondered why.

A 10,000uF cap from + to - is equal to a pair of 20,000uF caps from + to ground and from - to ground (caps in series)

Also, because you have two bridges - each bridge want to circulate its own ripple current. The added resistance of the other bridge reduces the effectiveness of the added +to- caps.
