This is great, at least for Electricity Distribution Network Operators :D:D:D

We will soon have our current 100W CPUs replaced by new 1000W ones running 10 times more inefficient software having the same performance for the end user. Interpreted scripts will be used even in the OS kernel with these 1000W CPUs.

We will also start using oudoor heat-exchanger based cooling systems in hot climates to avoid frying ourselves into our rooms.

Then our electricity bills will increase 5 fold or more. This is good since the price of electricity is also rising, for example a 30% increase is about to be applied in Spain and our current 50% discount during night will be suppressed too.

That way we may finally figure out that there has been something really wrong with the software engineeering methods that have been in use for the past 10 years!!

We will have a serious problem with laptops too, since they will no longer be able to run the same applications or operating systems as standard computers with existing battery and cooling technologies.

Newer applications may be written back in C++ and even in ASM as it was done 15 years ago.
