MO vs stores
So i'm figuring out what little bits I need to finish a project- a cable, a few standoffs and screws, a connector or two, maybe $8-10 in itty crap total. I could drive out to the highway to the electronics store (31.5 miles round trip) and buy it. But I won't have time to work on it til next weekend. I can mail order it for $5 shipping. With gas prices the way they are, it would be $4.50 just to take a quick run out to the starts store. Then, if they don't have one thing I need, or if that USB cable that's $2.15 MO is $5.00 in the store, I would have been just better off ordering any way.
So, I think I'm just going to put my order into jameco.com after thinking about it for a day or two to make sure I don't forget anything.
It's just so weird that it doesn't even make sense to run out to the store any more when you can get stuff MO cheaper and more conveniently. Heck, I got stuff from Malaysia in three days.
