Music on web pages (rant warning)

Does this annoy anyone else too?
I do not need to hear the same low bit rate song every time I visit the page.

Uh, have you tried turning the volume down or hitting the mute button?

My page has some cheesy music, but it plays only once, then stops, but that is an option. It won't play on Firefox, just Internet Explorer, as far as I know. Hmmm. I should make it loop continuously. Maybe it would discourage people from using Internet Explorer...

I run with my plugins and embedded music off unless I visit a page I want to see/hear them.

Mind you AFAIK, you can only do that in Opera

YES! It is annoying as hell.
Even if it plays only once or you have to click on something or do anything at all to stop it.

At the moment I'm more listening to music than using the computer, I'm on the media PC in the living room listening to some rather heavy rock rather loud.

Just imagine the cute little ditty blasting out of your system...

A rant is much more than 2 lines long. You're teasing us trolls with promises of rants and then merely stating an opinion in short, concise terms. Where is all the fuming, cursing, obscure references to Sylvia Plath novels, etc.? And you have to mention W, or it is a proper rant at all.
