1pair is OK for interconnect.

I've not yet made up speaker cables using CAT5, just passed on other's advice.

I wouldn't do interconnects with it, lousy idea. If you're going to rig up your own interconnects just use a professional cable like a Belden or Carol.

It makes alright speaker cables if you parallel four pairs. I can't remember the impedance of CAT5 100R or 120R? I use two CAT5 for my speaker cables, 8 pairs in parallel is 12.5R impedance. My idea in doing it was to get a close match to my 8R speaker impedance. DC resistance is still a little high for my tastes.

Mogami is also nice stuff, sheild is wrapped, not braided, so easier to deal with.


Kona coffee is great, but I prefer the organic stuff from right here in the county - Maui or Molokai. Caffine buzz sans the jitters. =)
