my compressor only builds up pressure up to 90 psi , how do i increse it to 150psi as it says on it that can run this high, the gague on it says 200 psi max , there is a nob that i can turn but only decreases the pressure , why does it stop pumping at 90 psi whats wrong with it ? where is the main valve that tells the compressor when to turn off ?

There will be a pressure switch in between the line cord and the motor; it will be connected to the tank or an air line. There should be a screw or nut to adjust the pressure setting. If this is one of those cheap oilless compressors, it may be hidden under a cover along with motor/pump assembly.

Yes, there will be a pressure switch in some where, pipe, compressor or air tank which you can adjust screw or spring.
Other things you should consider for more presure, maximum limited of tank, safety valve, the flex line cord. |
