Hi all,
I use a Denon AVR1403 5.1 receiver and a Samsung DVD player. Both are about three years old. When I use the coaxial connection, the Dolby Digital and DTS signals are not being recognised. The other DSP modes like Pro Logic and virtual surround etc are working fine. I changed the coaxial cable and tried several DVDs. The same problem exists. One thing I noticed is that the DVD player's RCA sockets appear to be weak and the picture flickers and sound distorts when I handle the RCA plugs. Has my DVD player past its life? Thanks for any inputs. Vivek

The solder of the RCAs tends to break by shaking (intentional/unintentional).
Just open up and check. Also check the cable. Sometimes the connector parts are riveted and could be a problem. Gajanan Phadte |

The outputs were set to PCM and not bitstream. It's working fine now. Thanks for your reply.
