Power company, powerline transformer distance to house

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to being closer to or further from the power company's pole transformer?
I have a pole at the corner of my back lot with the transformer on it. Is this good or bad?

IMO, the closer the better for lowest voltage drop, but I've never seen anyone very far away. Yours sounds typical or a little closer than some. The fewer people on the thing, the better. No question there are people with dirty power problems, for which there are a variety of solutions, but there's also a lot of bad information and snake oil behind the nearest tree, just waiting to jump on the nearest audiophile.
