Default Schokky rectifier question

Can these be put in seriese for higher voltage? I seem to rember
reading that that was a not ok to do this with schokky's or am
I mistaken?

That's correct. If there is a strong asymmetry in the leakage currents, i.e. the diodes are not perfectly matched, one of them will go kaboom! (probably the other one(s) directly afterwards...)

And take the voltage ratings very seriously - I once went 2-3 V above the rating and experienced instant kaboom

Or you can (all else equal) avoid the kaboom by chosing the SiC based version They go up to at least 200V as I recall.
