Thought experiment: A thousand 12V car batteries in series
 

12000VDC, a thousand amps avaliable

What would you do?

I think I would make some kind of salt water cannon that vapourises water with megawatts of power to fire huge lumps of metal at things

Maybe make a 500kW SE or PP triode amp perhaps? (You know how some speakers need that extra bit of juice :rolleyes: )

Or perhaps make some kind of plasma gun

Unfortunately the series resistance of the batteries themselves and the wiring would lower the current rating considerably, maybe you could get some really gigantic caps?!?!?
