Glenn Gould and his "re-performance" of the mono 1955 Goldberg Variations recording.

Interesting that there aren't too many people hitting this. You know that there was a "robot" piano recording with carbon rods dragging on a reel of paper that captured Mahler (and others)playing his (their) own compositions? There was a playback mechanism too. Someone restored one in the (70's?) and made some LP's.
