Default best CD/DVD/CD-ROM cleaner

Hi,
over the years I've collected a number of cheap CD cleaners, usually of the pad and duster type, with a bottle of gloop.

I actually have quite a few CD's DVd's and assorted PC and console games. All of which need cleaning from time to time.

Is there a clearly best cleaning machine or system ?

I'd be interested in any, especially automated ones

Thanks

The machine used at your local DVD rental place might be worth looking at. I can get them to buff scratches out for me.

Warm water and liquid dish detergent work well.

Default ultrasonic ?

Thanks,

anyone have experience of ultrasonic cleaners ? These appear to be a small tank of water that you put the CD, DVD or anything else you want to clean in (spectacles, jewellery, coins etc. though not at the same time). The water is agitated at high frequency (40khz+) and after a few minutes the object is supposed to be clean. Sounds great as it just uses water but I wonder if there are any long-term risks with CD's , i.e damaging the back of the disk which is actually closer to the data
