Default Paper based reel to reel tape dates

I found 4 reels of what i think is paper based reel to reel tape made by 3m scotch brand. these have a whitish back with black face. they are the oldest tapes i have ever seen.

I i think it was Agfa that first started making paper tape. then, JT mullins brought over the first two reel to reel decks smuggled out of germany, i thought it was magnetophone or ampex that made the first US decks. but who made the first tape? was it 3M???

Any collectors of this stuff out there?

Zc

"Pfleumer's invention used an iron oxide powder coating on a long strip of paper. This invention was further developed by the German electronics company AEG, which manufactured the recording machines and BASF, which manufactured the tape."
