Harman has been sold again, this time to a consortium of bean counters.

Predictions:

Like the last sale to Beatrice, Sidney Harman will have the last laugh.

The days where Harman had the finest collection of audio talent on the planet (Toole, Voecks, Olive, et al) will end very soon.

Fortunately Harman already sent the world's remaining Studer inventory to the crusher, leaving little avenue for the new owners to yet further debase a once-revered brand. A pool of top engineering talent cut loose just as China is beginning to focus massive production resources on audio might make for interesting times though.

Studer is still alive (well it was at least until last week). They are still making very fine equipment for recording and installed sound.
