Hi everyone !

Last year I complete a good sounding tube amp. After a successful year in electrical engineering, I have more than ever crazy projects in my mind. One of them is this one :

I want to build a audiophile motherboard !! (this is why I post in everything else)

What I aim :

- Intel chipset (I think they have a better development resources...I think)

- Basic functionality
- Running an OS, probably Fedora (linux)
- Running a music player
- Storing my music
- Basically a high quality digital music player, to replace those noisy chip that motherboard company is using.

- Cooling with heat sink, I got a 16 inches long .25 C/W left from a passlab project, so I'll probably wont take those new duo core

- Relative low cost, I`m a student... I'll use eBay

- PCI slot for putting a sound card

- USB transfer

I think this is it, it's an highly educative project, I hope it's going to see the end.

So if you have resources for me it would be HIGHLY appreciated, any comments or suggestion is appreciated, I'm open to explore every way !

Thank !

Ambitious. 6 to 8 layers of complexity, not quite the same league as a tube amp.
My question is: why? there are at least 50 different manufacturers producing a vast array of motherboards for virtually every application. Oh yeah, and cheap too.
But hey, it's your time. Good luck with that.
