Soldering temperature accuracy to last digit is unnecessary for most purposes. If there are any exceptions, I am not aware. For DIY, WES51 will be fine, unless you have cash to throw.

Gajanan is very much correct. Soldering is not a precision action. Its much more important that its consistent than it is that it is accurate. Personally, I would think that in the long run you would like the ease of setting the WES51 more. Also, you mention you need a good place to buy from but have no location information, thats kinda important.

Lastly, unless you are in 230V country, why not the Hakko FX888D. I have one and absolutely love it. Frankly, the pictures don't do it justice. It looks VERY Fisher-Price in the pictures, in person the look and feel is a MUCH higher quality.

The FX888D seems to be cheaper than the FX888...

The FX888 was discontinued over a year ago. Since some people like the analog controls better it has driven the price up.

I fully understand trying to avoid games. Frys and Amazon (make sure it's sold by Amazon not a third party or fulfilled by Anson) have them. They are authorized Hakko dealers. I got mine at my local Frys, that's not an option for you but if course they do online sales to. Avoid ebay for these because it's almost guaranteed to be fake.
