Default Audio Precision System 1 relays

My Audio Precision System 1 (config -11S) has a bad relay (I'm guessing) on the Generator output attenuator. As you try to adjust the output (unbal-float) below 330mV the output jumps up to 931mV and maintains about an 8.5dB error as the output is adjusted lower.

There are 8 IIRC DIP relays between the output transformer and the front panel, I'm guessing these form part of the attenuator for generator output. There is also a DAC somewhere that is used to adjust generator output. Should I just socket and replace the relays? Do I need special relays or will cheap telecom types be ok?

The relays may be the same as A_P uses on new models. Might give them a call to se if they will sell you one or give mfr/pn for an exact replacement. A-P should be able to help you... thy are very customer friendly.

Google or Bing whatever numbers are on the top of the relay. That's how I identified the COTO relays used in one of my HP instruments.

Modulus-86: Composite amp achieving 0.000067 % THD. Damn Good 300B, Novar Spud, 21st Century Maida Reg., Filament Reg., etc.
