Mastech HY5005d-2

Hi,
I purchased this power supply for building amps, it is 50v X2 by 5A. This is the ripple on the output Ripple noise: CV <= 0.5 mV RMS, CC <= 3 mA RMS . This was their linear version would it be a good idea to make a CLC board to go with this for testing? Here is a link to the unit .DC Power Supply - Linear Power Supply - MASTECH LINEAR POWER SUPPLY 50V 5A HY5005D-2 DUAL OUTPUTS (Powered by CubeCart)

Thanks

CLC=? Current Limit Crowbar. or? In any case, I think this supply is fully protected internally against overcurrents and shorts.

Sorry I ment CRC , a filter bank to clean it up .

Thanks

Well 500uV ripple and noise at full output is a pretty clean supply.....

Thanks,
I had no reference as to whether that was clean or not, I had a smaller supply but it was one of their switching ones and it was and it was audibly noisy. I purchased Pete Millets sound card interface to experiment building amps and wanted to make sure I was not seeing power supply noise.

I think in this case you can ignore the supply as a source of problems, unless EMI or RFI are being generated. You definitely want a linear supply for doing very low level work.
