I would also ask about these service manual - I have problem with noise at low levels, and I would like to look into, but also I don't want to damage it.

Hi Drifter, I also have 2645 preamp which is simillar to 2639 - I'm also wondering how to open it, but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't open in the middle (i use microscope to look at the case ).
I think that on the bottom side - black cover is screved to the body - but I'm not sure
