IVIE IE-10 Spectrum Analyzer questions
Do you own an IE-10? Did you ever own or use one? This is a unit from circa 1980-ish, maybe a bit later although I seem to recall them being around in the very late 70's, could be wrong there though.
I've got one, just the bare unit. Batteries are dead (NiCads, 4 AA cells, soldered in). So first of all I need to send it in to IVIE for a battery replacement and calibration. I know that just replacing the batteries is not rocket science, but I think I want them to do it, charge it, and cal it, and maybe see what shape it's in and tell me. So, there's $95 invested.
I have no owners manual ... if anyone out there does, I'd love a copy. Also, no charger and what looks suspiciously like a charger connector hole is bare of said connector and a few visible and suspicious looking PCB solder points are evident.
Any idea of a suitable charger for 4.5V NiCad would be welcome. There seems a possibility that the IE-20's charger might work but that's unconfirmed; still if there is any IE-20 stuff or literature out there I'd be interested in a look at that too. We'll see what IVIE does about the connector.
