lecroy 9400

I just pick this up and don't know anything about it. It didn't come with a probe buy a tech at work gave me one they use on a tectronics. When I connect it to the calibrator it doesn't show anything.

I got it to show a signal on both channels. I know its an old unit but is it good enough for someone that's starting to learn?
