Manual or schematics of the Philips PE1648 DC supply

Hi everyone,

The title says it all: I am trying to fix this 150V - 3A variable supply, and some help from the documentation would be extremely helpful.

BAMA has a couple of Philips PE series manuals. Even though different models they might give you an idea how Philips does things. Myself I'd head straight for the series pass transistor(s).

I have already looked up Bama's schematics, and none bear any resemblance with the 1648.
The problem(s) is in the control circuitry, both for the linear regulator and the thyristor pre-regulator: when I connect the thyristor's gates, the voltage across the main 5600µF/160V cap rises to 250V

Oh, one of "them". Best of luck to you. Sorrensen also used that scheme in some of theirs that were a bear to work on even with a schematic.
