Hello,
I have picked up a second hand Tek 455 scope for a pretty good price for my 16 year old son who has shown an interest in electronics. The scope appears to work OK, displays a trace pretty well on both channels, the cursors work pretty well, no screen burn and in reasonable cosmetic condition. Only problem is that the Horizontal menu button does not appear to work. No menu items appear on screen when the button is pressed. Vertical menu button and all other menu buttons appear to work OK. I guess that the scope is still pretty useable without being able to access the horizontal menu, but it would be good if someone has some experience with this scope and could offer some advice. I have looked at the service manual http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...5QSdNmXjBnJ2KQ and it appears to be a fron panel issue looking at the trouble shooting chart. If there is a risk-free way to attempt a fix i will probably go ahead, but if there is a great risk of doing further damage, I will probably leave it alone. Cheers, Chris |

If you don't find an answer here you could try the Tek Scopes group at TekScopes : All about classic Tektronix CRT o'scopes there're some pretty knowledgable folks over there. (you'll have to join the group)
