Hello Guys,
I normally hang out on the tube forum. A while ago I purchased this function generator while on an overseas trip. cncinst > Product Information > Function Generators (FG-202C) Lately the sine wave output has a strange characteristic of having a sine wave at the top of the waveform, and a triangle wave at the bottom. I am guessing that the FG converts a triangle wave to make the sine wave, and somewhere along the way that circuit is not working. I am pretty new to electronics and trouble shooting test gear, but if anybody could give a little advice I would be most grateful. BTW, as the unit was purchased overseas, warrantee return is not an option unfortunately. Also, to add to the difficulty, I have been unsuccessful in my search for a schematic. Attached is screen shot of wave form. Regards, Chris Last edited by chrish; 11th September 2011 at 01:04 PM. |

Dang, that looks familiar.... Think it's just a calibration -balance- issue. Take a gander at an Tek FG502 manual, cause that's probably where I recall it from. The FG-202 might be a ripoff clone.
http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/tek/fg502/ Also take a good look at your minus power supply cap. Having a soft minus supply (bad filter cap minus side) could have just such an effect. Doc
