Hi,
I am interested in learning how to wind my own transformers for tube amps, does anyone know of a source for a good manual winding machine [possibly something I can hook a motor up to later on] ? |

you can probably pick up a fairly basic winding machine for a few hundred pounds.
Winding Technology have a selection of second hand machines. however before you start down that route, have you thought of everything? can you design a transformer? can you get all the materials? bobbin, lams, winding wire, mounting kit, etc. unless you can say yes to both questions you are far better off going to a transformer company. even if you can say yes to the first one, then send them your design. I am not saying you shouldn't have a go, far from it, but in my experience, it's much better getting someone who knows what they are doing to make it for you. |
