Rent equipment or have it done?

Hi,

I wanted to make a dozen of M2.5 holes in aluminium but could not find taps and handles here in Calgary. Getting one from the US is tricky and it's not an option so far. In addition, I do not have a drill as well as a place to perform drilling, except my kitchen. Of course, it's possible to rent a drill in Home Depot, but quality of the holes will suffer, I don't want that.

What I'm looking for, ideally, a company or simply a guy, who gets heat sinks and parameters of holes and I got things done for cash.
OR there might be a place (garage/factory etc.) which has all the equipment and let met done thing myself.

1st choice would be to cultivate a friend with a well equipped shop and front him a bottle of his favorite adult beverage to help you with the mission. An important caveat is that the adult beverage remain corked until the power tool work is completed!

Then I also need a big flag "looking for a friend who owns a shop" on it. And you did not mention who buys used staff from the shop unless it's significantly discounted.

In the UK a (decent) drill can be purchased from Argos for only 10GBP:

Princess Auto comes to mind. Or Canadian Tire, but only when the stuff you want is on sale 50% or better.

The OP should have no trouble finding a machine shop willing to do small jobs on cash terms. Just make sure that they know this is for personal hobby use and not commercial or you will pay too much.
