Need Help on ac/dc converter@!!!!

Hello Masters

I have a problem regarding my ac/dc converter 12vdc/5a output.Recently I measure the output voltage with the use of a multimeter.I got the actual measurement of 14.5v,which is above normal than the specs.is there any way that I can put it back to 12v? I check the internal parts no burn @ all.inside there is IRF820and smps10 rctifier.next time I'll post the converter..

It is a nonregulated converter. It is correct and the voltage will drop on load. However, do not use it for sensitive, high quality load

hi msj965 , Ill bet this is a "wall wart". Black plastic thing that plugs right into the wall with a cord on it.

If so, that is normal. Post the information written on it if you are still curious. What is it used for?
