It started with a question involving an audio generator/oscillator and a scope and tube circuit for guitar, but broadens to many impedance matching concerns, mostly between audio components, but also some RF.

Did you read the first answer where impedance matching only matters at higher than audio frequencys?

In most audio situations impedance matching is the last thing you want. People sometimes confuse themselves by saying 'output impedance' when they actually mean 'optimum load impedance', so they think they are achieving a match when in fact they are not.
