Hi, I have a Heathkit IT-11 capacitor checker. I want to monitor current through the capacitor under test when performing Leakage Test. Where is the best place to insert an analog ammeter?
I have done this externally with the ammeter in series with the negative side of the cap...works great on charge up. But discharging the cap pegs the meter with reverse current and pops the reset breaker. Thinking in series with the V2a cathode would be better?
I'd love to do all this externally with out chassis mods/drilling. But I will consider the best option.
Manual and schematic...

I'm using a Simpson 260 series 6XLPM meter.

Also to consider is maintaining normal operation of the Bridge Circuit measurement functions.
Thanks!
