Default Test Equipment Follies

So my test equipment doesn't consist of much, and depends on an older Technics integrated amp for testing speakers. It also doubles as my kitchen system when not testing.

Last night I was testing a speaker and noticed that the bass was lacking and since I had just eyeballed the xo, I figured the problem lay there. After having worked it all out and gotten satisfactory results, I sat back kind of amazed how simple it was. Then I realized that for whatever reason (probably late night cooking), I had the bass turned down a bunch on the amps EQ

So after learning some about crossover I didn't need to, I am back at square one, with EQ disabled, and find it's a much less overwhelming the second time around. I suppose there are pluses in everything. (Except the left side of the EQ dial haha)

I'm just glad there was no high voltage involved in this mishap. As i always say: Measure thrice, cut twice, but never pecker around with wires.
