Hmm, a biscuit joint is basically what it sounds like.

A pocket is plunged into the edges (sides) of the wood and a biscuit (think oreo) is inserted into that slot, and the joint is made.

Canadian Tire occasionally has great deals on sets of carbide bits. They didn't appear to be much worse than the Freud bits I own, each of which cost me more than the router (pawnshop B&D Pro (Elu, like the DeWalt but not yellow)). However, Canadian Tire is sourcing more tools from China now instead of Taiwan, which probably means quality will suffer.
