Check the DC resistance of the voice coil. Does not apply to Piezo tweeter.
Stick a capacitor in series with the tweeter.
Connect the series combination to an audio amplifier.
Listen as you slowly turn up the volume.
You need to select the capacitor value to suit the tweeter impedance and also the tweeter passband.
10uF with an 8ohm tweeter gives f-3dB~2kHz and falls off @ 20dB/decade for frequencies below roll off.
