DC amp clamp needed !!

Need to get an Amp clamp meter that reads DC upto over 300 amps ? Any recommendations please ?

a four terminal 0r01 would drop 3Vdc at that peak current.
If that is too much then look for a 0r001 four terminal resistor to allow current to voltage conversion. Far cheaper than any clamp meter.

No good for my application , measuring car starting currents , big ICE amp currents , inverter battery currents , etc , etc. I actually have some big AVO shunts , but as I said , no good for in circuit measurements.

Make your own out of a flyback transformer core and a hall effect sensor.

Do need a split clamp? It makes a big difference costwise...

If not... then F.W. BELL / Sypriss makes these... with a nice price. You might have to build a small diff amp circuit to get the most useful readings.

Go to Fleabay and look for a used Sun Electric VAT24 or 40 automotive auto electrical starting and chargeing test equipment, or something similar from Bear . These are used in automotive battery, starter, and alternator testing there are probably some info online Sun Is now part of Snap On .

Do need the split type for access reasons. Need to go for an off the shelf unit for convenience and ease of use.

if you are that interested in the current flows then I suspect you are also interested in how much the current flow changes. That implies some speed of response.
