Default Simple compressor

Hi Guys, a long shot, but does anyone remember a simple 'passive' compressor from Elector, early 80s I think, which consisted of a FET, diode, cap and a couple of resistors? I remember it working well with guitar & want to build another, but of course I lost the schematic decades ago....

Hi Kay, I'm aware of Rod's circuit, which uses optical compression, but I want to use the FET circuit. Actually, I could nearly draw it out it was so simple... I'll give it a go later and see if anyone has suggestions for component values.

Interesting Site Kay, Thanks, I'm going to read some of their app notes.
The compressors there are much more complex than what I'm thinking of though, posted what I think is the schematic here:
