Vumeter in quotes as it's intended to go across the speaker leads rather than line level, but a BTL amp on 12V car supply. Using an LM391x circuit, could this be done with a cap (1uF?) in each lead from the speaker terminals to avoid connecting one directly to the meter's (and ampliofier's) power ground? Or is there a better method, that likewise doesn't involve opening up the amplifier?
There was one in Elektor back in July/Aug 2003 if anyone hoards copies. |

I think I still have that Elektor. If you wish, I can scan the schematic for you. It works on BTL amps.
