Default News!

We've been very busy at diyAudio HQ the last few months on the following things:
  • New PSU board
  • Improved 4U and 5U Deluxe chassis configurations
  • Amp Camp Amp components kit
  • Amp Camp Amp chassis

We're putting the finishing touches on all these things and expect them to be available according to the estimated dates posted above. The PSU board has greatly increased capacity and an improved design, the chassis will have heaps of new ways that you can mount various boards and parts inside them, and the ACA kit and enclosure is really going to be a lovely set.

The hundreds of hours we've put into these may not appear obvious at first but as they say - "The devil is in the details". We're spending an inordinate amount of time on millimeter adjustments throughout all these products so that what you get is something that goes together simply and smoothly, allows as many configurations as possible, with as few headaches as possible and allowing for easier modifications and compatibility with 3rd party products.

Default Updated F5 and diyAB BOMS with Digikey part numbers

We've updated the F5 and diyAB / Honey Badger BOMs with Digikey part numbers to make it easier to find all the parts you need to start your project.

Digikey has a BOM manager that allows you to import an existing BOM and create an order. It expects one column to be quantity and one column to be the Digikey part number. Our BOMs are organized by individual parts, so you will just need to cut and paste all the part numbers from our BOM into a new spreadsheet column, and fill the cells next to each part number with "1", then import it into the Digikey BOM manager.

Default diyAudio F5 Build Guide

We have created a very detailed, 56 page long F5 build guide tailored to using the F5 output boards, PSU board and Chassis available in the store. It makes building the F5 a very easy step by step process from start to finish.

diyAudio F5 Build Guide

Currently this build guide is in "soft launch" so we can get feedback and iron out any bugs. We haven't promoted it heavily yet as we're waiting for the next batch of chassis to get back in stock, but if you're building an F5 you will find it to be an invaluable and detailed guide. Feel free to post your feedback in the F5 build guide thread

In a diyAudio first, (some) things are on time, and the following products are now live:

Amp camp kits will go live in the next day or two and the chassis for that will be sorted out around the same time (for presale).

The first limited batch of F-5T beta boards sold out very quickly, we're going to send in the rest now to the warehouse and just keep them advertised as beta until we get more success stories (they have been built successfully but we want more feedback on any potential problems or changes that should be implemented before advertising them as a finished product). The next batch (of the same beta boards) should be available for sale around 19th April.

Amp Camp Kits are now live in the store. The new kit features new packaging, "no mess" high quality Keratherm insulators and upgraded Vishay-Dale resistors.

Amp Camp Amp enclosures will be hopefully pre-selling in the next few days.

The next batch of F-5T boards were delayed and will be available around 2nd May.

New Digikey parts number laden BOMs for the Soft Start and Speaker Protector have now been uploaded.

The dimensions PDFs for those PCBs were also previously incorrect (they were mixed up with another PCB), and have been corrected. The new / corrected dimensions are much smaller than previously stated!

The remainder of the F-5T Beta boards are now back in stock. It looks like there will be very minimal changes to them for the final production run, which will then be in stock in around 2 months from now.

ACA Chassis to be available for presale in a few days with a pop quiz survey coming up soon. New deluxe chassis configurations have been locked in and sample configs will be posted in a few days. PSU board is now complete, details to be posted soon.
