need some advice,low budget psone pj

i built a psone pj from the parts below, i know you think it would look like crap but sprisingly looks good, even can watch it with a light on. and i built it under $90

what i really want to know is can i use the fresnel lens from ss and a staples fresnel with decent results? which lens would go where?

also im using a dimmer with the lighting to get 82 volts, im acually running it at about 75v. would i be better off using a diode? will reducing the volts kill the bulb faster or make it last longer?

anyone know of a better bulb i can fit in that fixture, the one in it does good but its only rated for 35hours.

this was just a test to learn alittle about optics and pjs, and just like ive read a million times im not satisfied. im going bigger and better soon, but id like to use this in the kids room or bedroom till then.
