Default VGA portable HDD player

Did anyone use one of those ?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d..._BIN_Stores_IT

I got one tonight in local computer store and I like it.
It is bit bigger than 2.5 " hard drive and it has VGA and composit out.

It looks like VGA output is 640X480 but it movies look good on
both 19" CRT and 19" LCD that I have.
It downsamples nicely movies that are wider than 640 pixels.

Might be useful for people with overhead panels that need to reduce size.

If quality is not bad on projection I might hook up this
to my future 15" projector permanently and avoid HTPC.

This things has interface similar to philips DVP642 that I have
but it plays some video files that philips can not.

If nothing else I can always have few good movies with me when I visit friends

Cheers!

Default yahoo group

There is yahoo group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hddplayers/
That has been setup to try and make the most of these little players.
It looks like the one you got is included:

You might have to join the group though.

Yes, it looks like same unit...
There is also model that has OTG
(can copy files from camera to hard drive without PC).
There is always another feature missing
