LCD Faded edges?!?!

I have an 8" hami and at the top part of the screen (accualy the bottom in the projector) doesnt show Complete black but more of a grey color and also has slightly washed out color. I thought this might be due to too much heat when i was testing it out so i added a fan that directly cools the LCD... I dont know it it is getting worse of if I am just looking to hard.... the lcd is just barly warm to the touch so i dont think it is heat.
Could this be UV or
could it be an artifact of the LCD that I am just noticing.

I am worried about it getting worse and spreading to the rest of the screen....

I have had a UV filter in place the whole time...

is it possible that this could be the result of a wiring issue... FFC not pluged in tightly; although I'd assum that if that was the case the "fadedness" would be very defined

ex. it would cut of at exactly one row/ column pixel

but it seems to be more of a gradual switch. When I get home I'll Try reconnecting the FFC to see if that helps the situation; I'm hopping it isnt perminant but if it is I am able to deal with it as long as i can be assured that it isnt going to get any worse.

before this 8" hami I had a 15" lcd that never experianced any issues however I dont know what was up with that LCD, as it had anti glare on both sides!? and very dark polorizers; it projected a very dark image (very cheap on ebay).

Now with the hami i couldnt be more pleased with how bright the projected image. It completly restored my faith in DIY projection.

If anyone has had any experiance with these kind of issues your help would be greatly appreciated. Im hopping it isnt perminant, but I am trying to figure out every posibility because im scared to use my projector.

*I dint notice this "faddedness" untill I tried to use my N64 on the screen..... I turned on the console and the screen turned blue and then weirdly faded too off.... i highly doubt this was the source of the problem... but I would in a way be relived to know that it was in fact that...

-----a UV filter can be a very thin peice of plastic right?? ...becasue I ordered one from lumenlab alont with the frensel lenses and I just always assumed that that thin peice of plastic was it..... but it wasnt labled.....--------

I'm not seeing it... can you increase contrast to highlight the problem any better?

Yes this could be an optic issue. Light may be leaking through sides of the LCD. The sides may be masked with black tape and results seen. In our projector we found such streaking of lights which were removed after the suggested masking. Our experience is contained in the following url of our web page:-

the edges of the LCD are masked, but I think the problome is unevidible with this panel; I was looking at other LCD panels And I noticed that even with just the back light certain edges apperead with slightly less contrast. I will try to post more pictures in the near future to try and show the problome in more detail.

I get lot of mails with queries and appreciating our web page. Accordingly I update it so that common queries need not be replied separately. Hence the web page is getting richer and richer day by day. It is very much liked by not only the new comers but even by stalwards of the field.

heres another picture it isnt accualy that light in the room.... but as u see the top part of the picture has alot less contrast (not as black)...... uhmm Im at a complete loss ...the LCd is infront of both frensels

Could your lcd be not parallel to your fresnel? I have read that the reason why most designs put the fresnels after the lcd is due to artifacts. Maybe your top is getting these combined with a slight hotspot due to not being aligned parallel. Im just guesiing but trying to help.
