i can get hold of projects for a cheap price but for only 2000lumens. can i increase the ammount of lumens on that projector by changing the bulb or do i need to look for another projector with 4000lumens??

most of the time no .. other bulbs wont worth with other projectors now you could RETRO fit them by mounting a metal halide setup in side of it ....but after all that work .. you may as well just build your own box

http://www.allinbox.com/retrotft/retrotft.htm

that is a OHP that was retro fit with a HQI metal halide setup ... you just have to gut the OHP and setup the MH inside ..... its not that hard but you will have alot of light leaks .. unless you do sorta what he did there with the plywood ... but after all that you could just build a box ...
witch means you really dont even need the OHP .. unless you wanna try and use the fresnel and projection lens

BULB

http://www.atlantalightbulbs.com/eca...HI-S400DDUSHIO

thats what i will be useing cheap ballast good bulb

when looking for a bulb yer gunna want long life , good color temp around 5000K , decent price and its gatta be bright the bulb there has 33,000 lumens.... now only around* 10% of that light will actually get to the screen ... so brighter is always better
