you are absolutelly correct. By now we only know the focals are practically simillar as well as the housing dimensions. I have the awi FOV spec but not the besseller FOV spec.
You are right when you say that there can be any FOV on the lens done (this means that the corrections to the aberrations can be made to any desired angle). Let me tell you that the LASER test on the awi, did give us much wider angle than the stated FOV. (laser test=led test practically=what lens sees). now a last coment, what size is the led, maybe 15 times each individual pixel? and 45 times each indibidual subpixel? well, i hope you get as good image as posible, will be checking for results.
