haha, you have run into the exact same problem as i just have..
-an circuit board in the way anchored by a ribbon cable, which lcd was that? mine was a philips 105s

anyway, i was dispairing for a while also thinking id wasted my time (i dont like the idea of putting the lcd back together..)

but what you want to hear: www.farnell.com have various sized ribbon cables you can buy, really cheap too, ive just ordered a longer replacement for mine about an hour ago
