Default how long does it take water to boil

i need a ir filter and i need to know if water is the ir filter and it is absorbing ir how long will it take the water to boil

More important that altitude is the question...Are you using a gas or electric stove?

i mean if i was to use water in a 12 by 12 enclosure how long will it take to boil with just the ir heat from a 400w bulb going through it

specific heat of water is 4.2J/K/ml

so it takes 4.2 joules to heat 1 ml of water by 1 degree C.

Now go get your calculator and work the rest out.

Though personally I'd go with the 6m53s.

is the heat that comes from the stove the same ir heat that the 400w bulb is going to give off
