Default DVD projector

I am a total newbie so please bear with me. I've read the forums for weeks and I'm trying to decide the best LCD to use. I know that 15" computer LCDs are probably the best picture but I only want to use the projector to watch DVDs on my standalone player. Since I won't be using a computer on the projector (which would have the highest resolution) will there be a big difference between a psone LCD and a computer LCD? The DVD is low resolution (compared to a computer) so will it look better on a computer LCD than a psone LCD?

Well the ps1 screen has lower resolution than a DVD... not exactly what it is, probably about 320x240? The PS1 lcd is good for VCDs (352x240, 352x288)

There are 4 dvd formats that you need to consider

NTSC 4:3 (720x480)
NTSC 16:9 (720x480)

PAL 4:3 (720x576)
PAL 16:9 (720x576)

If your LCD is not wide screen, than you will have black bars on top and bottom for the 16:9 dvds, so to get about full resolution, you will need a 800x600 lcd for ntsc widescreen, and 1024x768 for pal widescreen.

Also dont forget - on a half decent 15" lcd, the contrast and pixel count are much better, and the screendoor is much less noticable.
