Hello, most lcd screens including this one, are powered with an A/C cord that plugs into the wall and also plugs into the LCD either directly or on the cord
ac cords that convert to dc.

impressive! truly impressive. With a total cost of only 37$ US?
I might look into this. My father wont let me put a big projector into my bedroom, perhaps I can talk him into such a small one. Plus slide projectors are really cheap on ebay, you can get a decent one cheap, with autofocus and everything.

I just bought the hip gear controlled for only 20 canadian dollars, and now I need to know what is the brand of the cable needed to make the RCA input.

By the way, thanks for this great idea!

Hey no budget, here is the photo from walmart of the style of cable needed to preform this lcd magic, also, the brand is insignificant, others make it for le$$, Also I forgot to add the DaLite "Jet" glass-beaded projector screen , $ 4
> Just a note, the autofocus feature for mine was disabled in order to expand the slide slot where the lcd fits,
Thanks for your interest, please post your project pics too !!!

Default Simply Amazing

I am completely amazed by what you have done. My roomates and I have every intention of trying to replicate what you have done. This is just simply amazing. My utmost respect to you and the rest of the diy-ers out there. I look forward to trying to do what you've done and hope you wouldn't mind me doing so. Any tips on how to get the screen to stay in place for a noob? And also look forward to the pictures of the interior.

John

Hi,

Exactly what I've been thinking about.... just needed someone to step up first I guess.... nice work !!!

Couple of questions, what is your light source? Do you need or use a heat glass or something of that matter? And, do you need that cable specifically to use it -I mean, could you just use a RCA-mini jack style cable from the DVD player to the screen?

Thanks.

1. The light source is the OEM engine from the carasoul slide projector

2. No need for heat glass, an lcd panel melts at a higher temp than a plastic slide

3. Umm yeah, you need that cable thingy so you CAN use regular rca jack, unless you just want to play games.

Sure thing, but they stop working at a lower one
