Shorter focal length is brighter. No need for mirror. Lesser cost.

Hi Hertzblaster,

I tried to follow this thread about making a diy projector but I'm confused. From the very beginning you posted a finished diy projector and didn't see step by step procedure. Is the step by step assembly posted on another thread? Sorry for the dumb question but enlighten me. I'm thinking of building one too.

Thanks,

Fred

Nothing spectacular in the design.
Its the same as it was before except
1. Led is water cooled
2. Led is custom designed. its not commercially available. the sales guy became somewhat a friend and I can order in small quantity. I can also try variations in design if I want to.
3. A controller manufacturer( not a retailer or reseller) supports me, but at a price.

Got a newly arrived customized led.

The one at the left is the 128w 18,000 lumens (wow!) and the right is the smaller emitter area 98w 13800 lumens led. Will test this later tonight.
